When do new class dates become available?

Each new cooking class schedule becomes available at the beginning of the month. If you are interested in receiving our newsletter with upcoming classes, dates and menus, please sign up in the box on the right side of each page.

Is there a minimum for private cooking classes?

We have a 10 person minimum for all private cooking classes.

Do we sell gift certificates?

We have put our gift certificate sales on hold through next May, 2016. Beginning June 1st we will sell our cooking class tickets through Sosh and won’t be able to accept any unused certificates once we make the switch. As soon as we begin ticket sales with Sosh, we will begin selling gift certificates again.

How long is each class?

Each class lasts around 3.5 hours, and cooking time is about 1.5 hours. Classes start at 7pm and end at 10:30pm.

Where are classes held?

Our classes are held at Cookhouse in the North Beach district of San Francisco. The address is 253 Columbus Ave and the cross street is Broadway. Please go to www.cookhousesf.com for a map and parking information.

How many people are in each class?

Classes have between 12 and 16 attendants.

How hands on are the classes?

Each class is very hands on. The class is laid out in stations based on the items on the menu. The cooking portion is communal – each attendant doesn’t get their own station, but shares the stations with their fellow class members.

Do we eat the food that we make in class?

The class sits down to a family-style dinner at the end of the cooking portion of class. Sometimes we serve the menu plated in courses and sometimes it is buffet style.

Do I have to be a good cook to attend?

Each class has a broad range of abilities attending. You are welcome to come if you know a lot or a little about cooking!

Can I purchase wine at the class?

You can purchase wine or beer by the bottle through Cookhouse.

Can I bring wine?

Yes, Cookhouse charges a $10 corkage per bottle.
